October 2009----Playground Update At this time we will need to raise between $80,000 - $100,000 to purchase a new playground structure and add more wood chips and permanent padding. So far we have donations from foundations, associations and individuals We are applying for a St. Paul Neighborhood Star Grant for $25,000. The local band Atomic Flea donated proceeds from the sale of their CD at there opening show on October 8, 2009.

October 10, 2009----Pancake Breakfast a Great Success! Thanks to all of the people who flipped pancakes, served pancakes,
washed pots and pans, and washed sticky tables for making the pancake
breakfast such a successful event. Thank you to all of the families who
came and ate pancakes and to those of you who donated money. We raised
$3,000 for our playground. Thank you for making this fundraiser a

September 2009----A "Big" Thank You to "AT&T Pioneers We would like to give a “BIG” Thank You to the AT&T Pioneers for repainting the map of the United States of America. The new map is colorful and bright! We had 5 members from the AT&T Pioneers come out and paint our map. We would also like to thank Carin Anderson, Mary Doran, Mr. & Mrs. Jackson and Llarvel Bunker who are Crossroads parents who helped with the event. The map is located on the black top area of our playground. When you are at Crossroads be sure to stop by and check it out. Thank You!!!

Congratulations to Ms. Carty! Celeste Carty was honored on February 7 at the Minnesota Elementary School Principals’ Association (MESPA) annual conference as the (MESPA)/Science Museum of Minnesota 2006 Science and Mathematics Elementary Principal of the Year. Ms. Carty was selected on the basis of the work she has done in implementing and maintaining a strong science focus at Crossroads-Science.
