| Audubon Center of the North Woods |  | The Audubon Center is located on an 800 acre section of woods, water, and fields near Sandstone, Minnesota, approximately 90 miles north of St. Paul.
All Crossroads students have two opportunities to experience a three day residential environmental education experience at the Audubon Center of the NorthWoods. Science students visit the Audubon Center in the summer in fourth grade and in the winter in sixth grade. During a Montessori students' three years in E2, they will make two visits - once in the summer and once in the winter.

April, 2007 Visit Students in Ms. Haines, Ms. Roper, and Ms. Stack/DeMarais classes spent three days at the Audubon Center of the NorthWoods on April 2-4. Expecting spring, we faced a major winter blizzard (12 inches). Despite the weather, students
traversed the high ropes, studied macro-invertebrates in the pond, and
conducted bird studies. |

Winter- 2005 Mr. Larson, Ms Becquer, and Ms DeMarais' classes braved the cold and deep snow to travel north for the January Audubon trip. |
Springtime in the NorthWoods-April, 2005 In early April, the classes of Ms Cross, Ms Roper, and Ms DeMarais traveled to the Audubon Center of the NorthWoods to spend three days of getting to know one another better while we studied new life emerging in the springtime woods. |
Summer '04 visit Mr. Tatlonghari's, Ms, Thompson's , and Ms Stack's classes had a successful visit to the Audubon Center on June 2-4, 2004. Students enjoyed the variety of learning experiences including their classes and living together for three days. |
