| | Crossroads Wins Big at the Fair!
 | | Ms. Hansen's Class Mosaic Peace Bench | Ms. Hansen’s E2 class, in conjunction with Ms. Marni and Mosaics on a Stick created a beautiful mosaic bench with symbols of peace. The bench was displayed at the International Children’s Festival. It was submitted to the Minnesota State Fair and took the Grand Prize! The bench will be displayed at the school district’s central office and then will be returned to Crossroads where it will compliment our Peace Garden. The All-Day Friends in Ms. Hepola’s, Ms. Kanniainen’s, and Ms. Petta’s classes also won a Grand Championship with their art renditions of Millions of Cats a book by Wanda Gag. This is a traveling exhibit that will be visiting other Saint Paul Schools. Other successful classroom entries included; Bounty of the Earth book, First Place, Ms. Hurvitz’s E1 class; We Love the Countries of Africa collage, Second Place, Ms. Hepola’s CH class; and Bug Poems, Third Place, Ms. Kanniainen’s CH class.
Successful individual entries included: Winter Trees by Jackson Carver, Third Place; Egyptian Pharaoh Mask by Ny'Eela Belaphant and Maya Varnado, Second place; and Self Portrait, by Kayla Cha, Honorable Mention Fourth Place.
